Our Governance Structure
UN Youth Australia Limited is a company limited by guarantee registered in Australia. The members of the company are UN Youth organisations incorporated as associations in each Australian state and territory. Our volunteers are Associate Members of the company, and serve as voting members in the UN Youth association in their state or territory.
UN Youth Australia is governed by a ten-member Board of Directors elected by the members of the company each year. The Board has general authority over the strategy, personnel, and finances of the company but delegates day-to-day operation to a National Executive, led by the National President.
Each of the UN Youth state and territory associations are legally independent of the National organisation, though the national organisation facilitates state and territory collaboration. Local activities are generally run by the UN Youth organization in the state and territory in which the activity takes place.
Questions about the operation of UN Youth Australia should be directed to UN Youth Australia’s National Executive, at email@example.com.
